poems born of merciless memory & incessant inquiry

Oh, yeah, I’ll tell you somethin’
The space that separates
Has never seared
So severely

We’re repulsed at the touch
Isn’t that just like true love?

I think you’ll understand:
No matter how near we draw
Your warmth is just imagined
So frictional
My palm scars

So, when I say that somethin’
What I really mean is
Burn me into oblivion
Reach me where I can’t hide

I can’t hide

And please, say to me
You’ll let me hold your hand
